    We've seen massive foreclosures before. In the 70's we saw entire subdivisions become bank owned, of course, that was before they were called REO and it was illegal to use the word “foreclosure” in advertisements. The banks would not even list the properties, but sold them themselves at bid where a realtor could bring his buyer and get a 2% commission if his buyer was successful.
